Colton A. Longacre, Nancy Longacre, Sarah Longacre
Last Random Picture | Next Random Picture
Description: Myers journal noted that this image was taken in July, 1862. Colton Longacre was a Quantrill guerrilla on the July 6, 1862 roster. Nancy Longacre and her daughter, Sarah were taken prisoner and sent to St. Louis because they had southern sympathies. This was typical of the treatment of Southern women by the Yankees in Missouri. Some were murdered, raped, and often robbed by the Jayhawkers, Redlegs and Union soldiers.
