Description: Very unique and rare Cantey Collection CDV of C.E. Dimmitt. He was a minor criminal, thief, and sometime newspaper man. This is a mug shot showing his crime listed as "train robber". Dimmitt was the personal friend and associate of Jesse Edwards James, son of Jesse James, and was arrested with Jesse, Jr. for train robbery. Jesse, Jr. was found innocent in a trial as Dimmitt said he was NOT there. This may well be the only image of Dimmitt extant.
