Thomson, McAfee, Maupin, and Waggoner

Description: The Myers journal states that this image was taken in 1864. L to R seated: 3rd Sgt. Cort Thomson, Lt. Jon "Spike" McAfee. L to R standing: 1st Sgt. John Maupin, 2nd Sgt. Hence Waggoner. Corteze "Cort" D. Thomson was with Quantrill the last year of the war. Ref: Hale, Branded as Rebels. Jon McAfee was one of Quantrill's chief lieutenants on the Taylorsville, Kentucky raid. He lived in New Mexico after the war. He died by accident. John Maupin was with Quantrill. He was at Lawrence. He went to Texas with George Shepherd after the war but later returned to Missouri. Hence Waggoner was a querrilla but there is virtually nothing known about him.
